Joel Schechter is a professor of theatre arts at S.F. State University and is the author of 'Durov's Pig', 'The Congress of Clowns and Other Russian Circus Acts' and 'The Pickle Clowns: New American Circus Comedy'. He has been on the faculty of the Yale School of Drama, SUNY Stony Brook and NYU's Department of Performance Studies.
